I CLEANED UP MY UGLY COPPER KETTLE!

To prove the effectiveness of Tarn-B-Gone,  I first  got out a beat up, scratched, corroded and fire blackened copper bottom pot.  This "famous maker" copper pot hasn't seen better days in over 25 years!   Then,  I got some electrical tape and used it as a mask, to divide half of the bottom of the pot.

After the tape was secure,  I applied a small amount of Tarn-B-Gone on one half of the pot.   With a small terry cloth and let the paste sit on the crud for 5 minutes.

After that short amount of time, I rubbed in a circular motion for no more than 5 more minutes, rinsed it off with water. And finally, I removed the tape.

You can see the results for yourself!   It is simply amazing!

Of course,  the length of time it will take for you to clean your item will be based of how corroded it is!   Some pots will require no rubbing at all, the tarnish will be dissolved immediately upon contact.

To keep the shine to last, I got another terry cloth with a very small amount of olive oil and applied it on the good side and rubbed it for 30 seconds. The olive oil gave it a sheen and kept it from tarnishing until the pot was used again.  This technique works great for anyone who displays or hangs their pots in the kitchen.
